Kim is a 1991 graduate of Independence High School in Tate County, Mississippi. She received her Associate of Arts Degree in Pre-Law from Northwest Mississippi Community College in 1993. She then attended the University of Mississippi in Oxford and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with a minor in Accounting in 1995. She furthered her education by receiving her Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Mississippi in 1998.

After receiving her license to practice law, Kim began working for the State of Mississippi handling child support enforcement cases. She held the position of staff attorney with that agency for six and a half years before coming to work with Austin Law Firm in the summer of 2005.

Kim maintains a general practice with the firm providing a multitude of legal services including real estate transactions, foreclosures, divorces, child custody and support, adoptions, legal emancipation, contempt matters, criminal law, will drafting, estate probate, personal injury, etc. Kim has also been certified pursuant to state law to act as a Guardian ad litem on behalf of children involved in litigation.

Kim is admitted to practice before the Mississippi Supreme Court, the United States Supreme Court and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi. A majority of her practice takes place within the Third Judicial District of the Chancery Court which includes, but is not limited to, DeSoto, Tate and Panola counties, DeSoto, Tate and Panola County Justice Courts, and most DeSoto and Tate County Municipal Courts. She is also a member of the Mississippi Bar Association and the newly elected Treasurer of the DeSoto County Bar Association.

Kim and her husband, Lee, are both lifelong residents of Tate County, and have both worked in DeSoto County for most of their careers. Lee is a dispatcher for the Southaven Police Department. They have one daughter, Abigail Virginia Jones.
